Our open days provide an excellent opportunity to explore living and learning at Birmingham and are ideal for individuals, families and school parties.
Live updates
For a taster of what happens on an Open Day read our live updates from the Undergraduate Open Days:
Applicant visit days are invitation only events which provide you with an opportunity to visit, explore, ask questions and find out what life is really like at Birmingham.
Each spring, usually in April, our Housing Services department hosts a special open day for prospective students and families, where you can view a range of student accommodation. For more information, email ugradaccom@bham.ac.uk or visit www.housing.bham.ac.uk
If you are interested in applying to Birmingham but cannot attend an open day, we organise guided tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year. Advance booking is essential for these visits. You can book online by following the link below or by phone on +44 (0)121 414 2242.
For informal visits, the campus is open seven days a week – you'll find a map at www.location.bham.ac.uk
Each year we welcome over 15,000 visitors to our open days and as a result the adjacent roads and University car parks get very busy. We encourage you to plan your journey carefully and recommend using public transport to reach Birmingham where possible.
The University has its own railway station on campus and regular train services arrive from New Street station throughout the day. If you intend to travel by car, the University can only offer limited parking on campus as well as additional 'park and ride' facilities (for the June and September Open Days). Further information:
